Pacific Crest Half Marathon

Baby Huckvale ran its first race (kangaroo style as my father in law Bob put it).  Jonathon and I went down to Sun River, Oregon with Jonathon's parents to run the Pacific Crest Half Marathon - 13.1 miles.  We are sore today, but it was a lot of fun and so beautiful there! We'll definitely be back!

Jonno and Nancy before!
(A lot of these pictures turned out pretty dark - I did what I could to lighten them and salvage what I could!)

One of the MANY pictures and videos we got from the camera
while it was inside Jonathon's pocket while we were running- haha!

Right after we finished - we DID OT!!
(Another dark picture :(  )
Victorious!
Bob and Susie after they finished
They did awesome! Susie's first half.

I love him so much!
This was his first big race since running cross country in high school. I'm so proud of him!
(That is a giant beer keg behind us- ha)

Jonno after the race finished - haha!
We were so sore- all we wanted to do was lay/sit and stretch out.
Our knees were KILLING us the first day and luckily were fine day 2.
However, our hips, quads, and hammies were prettttty tight day 2. We limped all around!

Coming along!
Napping in the car on our drive home
We had a 3 hour and 45 minute drive home to Camas after the race.
I was driving and couldn't go any further. We pulled over for me to get a quick nap and after 15 minutes I was set!
Jonathon said I looked so cute so he took this photo. :)
We were both unfit to drive! Luckily this plus a Burger King ice cream cone did the trick to get us home!

We stopped to eat at a Mexican place in Redmond where Susie nearly fainted and was what Jonathon       diagnosed as "DE-SALT-ZENIZED!" so she laid down on the floor in the restaurant.
The server was very concerned! But she was a trooper and survived to tell the tale.

We LOVED Sun River and can't wait to go back and explore it more when we've got more time.

The Huckvales are having a baby!!

Baby Huckvale is due December 13, 2013!

First FAINT LINE..
My friend Rona from work told me "As long as you see a  FAINT line,
it means you're pregnant!"
I'd taken several before this morning and they had all been negative so
my heart DROPPED when I saw this as I GASPED!
First day I found out I was pregnant!

Second day I picked up an 'official' non-dollar store version to confirm :)

We found out the day after we got back from our trip to Bend, OR!

ANNOUNCING TO OUR FAMILY:

We announced on Mother's Day the big news by giving Susie and Lisa a card that said:
"Happy Mother's Day, GRANDMA"

We included a little picture of our positive pregnancy test and a baby shirt that says:
"Grandma's Best Friend"

It was a big hit to say the least!  We mailed a package to my Mom who is in Utah and got to spend the day with my Mother in Law Susie in Boise, Idaho while visiting Grandpa and Grandma Huckvale.

The whole family, even ELDER DAVID HUCKVALE!!

FaceTime with Mom to watch her
find out the big news!
I'm grateful for technology so we can
be "together" even when we're so far apart.
Isn't she a cute Mom?

My older sister Shirley is expecting her third baby (a GIRL!) in October so my mom has been really excited for that.  She said after opening this "WOW, I'm going to DOUBLE my Grandchildren going from two to FOUR this year!!"

Six Weeks :)

First Ultrasound at 11 weeks
I went in for my first 11 week appointment with the doctor at Vancouver Women's Clinic in Salmon Creek in Vancouver, Washington.

I asked the doctor if I could hear the heart beat today and he said it was probably too early.  Later on he was going to do some doctor-y stuff and feel around and all of a sudden he put jelly on my belly and started doing an ultrasound!  I said, "Wait, what are you doing? Are you doing an ultrasound??"  For some reason, he didn't mention he was going to do this - he said he could do this INSTEAD of the heartbeat. (weird, but whatever.)

I couldn't believe when I looked at the screen and saw this tiny little baby waving its arms and almost "popping" around in there. It was laying flat and then POPPED up and straightened out :) Hehe it was so cute! And it finally felt REAL- THIS is the reason I'd not felt well and THIS is the tiny thing growing inside me.

I felt tears run down my cheek as I smiled and laughed at this cute site.  The very first feeling I got after I left that day was to go to the temple and pray with gratitude that I have this opportunity to be a Mommy someday soon.
