Date night to OMSI

Jonathon and I had a fun date night tonight in Portland.

We're trying to expand our experiences and explore the Northwest more.  SO we recently got a membership to OMSI (The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) in Portland and went to see an IMAX movie there tonight, Hubble.

We ate at the Bunk Bar since it was down the street from OMSI. It was SO GOOD! And hit the spot!

Jonathon's order: Italian Sandwich with beans and rice
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
with Tillamook cheddar- YUM!!

Then we headed to OMSI to watch the IMAX movie of Hubble. It was so cool!
It left me wanting to learn more about astronomy. It had some amazing and beautiful film and photos of the universe.

Hehe
OMSI!

We finished the night with ice cream from Salt n' Straw on NW 23rd.
AMAZING.

We've wanted to try it for awhile (due to being highly recommended!) and finally got the chance.
This place is pretty popular--
By the time we got our order, the line was all the way out the door! Good timing!

Best. ice cream. Ever.
Sea salt and caramel and Freckled woodblock chocolate
in a freshly-made waffle cone

They let/made us try almost every flavor before deciding. There were weird ones like Black Pepper Chevre Ganache, Honey Balsamic Strawberry with black pepper, and Arbequina Olive Oil (one of Oprah's "FAVORITES")

They all had a funky taste, yet amazingly delicious. Really unique.

We'll be back again!

Yay for date nights! And finally exploring Portland!

I love OMSI! It's a fun place to go and I always learn so much. It's fun to see you guys explore Portland and it makes me miss it. I haven't tried Salt 'n Straw though! I will have to try it next time we are there.

I am surprised to see OMSI because they added restaurants, and businesses.

Your father and I went there at OMSI while your grandfather Gilbert and his wife Nancy lived in Portland.

OMSI only showed science things like rockets, mountains, etc. and children's museum.

Darn, I was there last January and could show you and Jonathon where grandpa Gilbert lived (ten floor apartment building).

I used to go to OMSI all the time when I was a kid. Loved going to that place. :) Glad to see one of my kids now going there. It's an awesome place isn't it!!! As for what Mom is saying about where Gilbert lived, it was a penthouse floor on the top. You were just a baby when we visited with them. Looking forward to seeing you again in the future! Love ya guys.
